DEATH INVESTIGATIONS & COLD CASES
“No greater honor will ever be bestowed on an officer, or a more profound duty imposed on him, than when he is entrusted with the investigation of the death of a human being. It is his duty to find the facts, regardless of color or creed, without prejudice, and to let no power on earth deter him from presenting these facts to the court without regard to personality.” Anonymous
"To the living we owe respect, but to the dead we owe only the truth." Voltaire
Mark Gillespie, a certified forensic death investigator, has the experience and resources to conduct thorough, competent and professional death and wrongful death investigations and answer questions regarding cause and manner of death.
Gillespie Forensics and Investigations can evaluate unsolved death cases and cold cases to determine if new analysis or forensic techniques could help develop new leads and/or bring closure to the case. Mark and his team can review autopsy results, toxicology, police reports, and forensic analysis of evidence to help seek resolution of the death, seek justice and closure.
"According to the Murder Accountability Project, there are more than 229,000 unsolved murders in the United States. This means there are 229,000 families without answers and victims without justice. This could also mean there are 229,000 or more violent offenders still free, walking our streets, and living in our communities with that number growing by 5,000 or more every year." Because of this, the Cold Case Accountability Act of 2020 was drafted to support law enforcement, victims, and families' rights. We support this initiative and will work hard to see its passage.
